The Economic and Social Data Service is a national data archiving and dissemination service which came into operation in January 2003. The service is a jointly-funded initiative sponsored by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC).

The European Credit Research Institute (ECRI) is an independent research institute in Brussels, which was established in 1999 for the study of banking and credit. ECRI focuses on institutional, economic and political aspects related to retail finance and consumer protection in Europe, but also in non European countries. The institute provides expert analysis and academic research for a better understanding of the economic and social impact of credit. They monitor markets and regulatory changes as well as their impact nationally and internationally. The institute is a legal entity of the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS).
